Caused severe chemical burn!!!
My daughter used this product for about three days. Yesterday she started with a rash which then turned into a really bad chemical burn on most of her face! It didn't really help the acne, her skin looked way better before using this. Now not only does she have the burn, but also patches of dry white flaky skin that will not go away! I guess if you want to burn a layer of your skin off, this is the product to use. Be very very careful if you use this! Her face is a hot mess. The burn is very red, rashy, and really painful.

I Love this Product!
This product is unbelievable! My son is 15 years old, African American, and had a severe case of acne on both sides of his face and on his forehead. We tried numerous creams, cleansers, soaps, and home remedies found on the Internet. Nothing worked! Finally in desperation, I bought this product because I thought it was "Proactiv"; I misread read the advertising slogan as the product title. When I realized my mistake, I started to return it to the store, but decided to see if there were any online reviews. Since everyone was raving about it, we decided to give it a try. It's been two weeks and the acne is completely gone. Everyday you could see improvement: first the pimples diminished, then the black scarring started to fade, and now it's as if he never had acne. I don't know if "Proactiv" works, but "AcneFree Severe" definitely does!

Best Product I Used so Far !!!!
I've had clear skin all my life and after turning 20 I started getting some mild acne on my back and shoulders and I didn't pay much attention to that as long as my face was clear and all of a sudden boom ! My beautiful skin is infested with cysts and almost any kind of acne that exists, I would all bouquet of acne like 5-10 at the same spot. I used ProActive and almost any other OTC products I could find, nothing would help. I came across this product and believe it or not this was like last Acne Medicine that I hadn't tried from CVS pharmacy and I thought well it's not going to help anyways and I gave up already and just accepted the fact that my face wouldn't be as it used to. Sounds familiar? First week, OMG First week and it's all gone. I couldn't believe it. I've been using this product for a month now and been following all the directions and using it 2 times daily and I've had some acne scars, they are clearing up too ! This product gave me confidence I had and took all that frustration out of my life, now I can look in the mirror and see myself again and not the acne infested face. I've been following healthy diet and trying to avoid acne causing foods as much as I could and it worked. All of it's said there are some downsides too. First of, these medications are very potent and my left eye been itching since I started using this product because I think I accidentally applied some around my eye. Other than that I'm so glad I tried this product and would recommend to anyone with moderate - severe acne. I would also recommend you putting aloe gel on your face because it really soothes and makes the redness and irritation go away.

Best I ever tried
I'm 35 years old and I've had severe acne since I was about 14. I took antibiotics as a teen for it...it hasn't remained at THAT severe level, but I still have quite a bit of issues with my complexion, especially considering at my age its usually not an issue.

I finally decided to try something more expensive so I saw this at Walmart and picked it up. Wow!!! My face is REALLY looking better. Yeah I still get a pimple or two here or there but overall my complexion is so much improved.

A few thoughts...

First, the toner goes way faster than everything else. My kit has lasted about 2 months and I'm about ready for a new kit. But after like 3 weeks I needed to order more toner, so I just got the regular AcneFree toner, a big bottle of it, on Ebay. It works just as well.

Speaking of the toner....Its AMAZING how much dirt it takes off your face, even right after I've scrubbed my face in the shower! No wonder I was breaking out....there's so much dirt hiding here and there in my pores and face its not even funny.

Anyway...also beware that the cleanser and the morning lotion contains benzoyl peroxide and it WILL bleach your towels, pillowcases, and clothes if you are not careful. The night cream contains retinol and that does not bleach, and the toner is just soothing and cleansing.

I love how the retinol smooths your skin at night and the toner also feels great...and the peroxide works during the day. I have not had my face irritated or dried out at all using this. Before I replaced the toner, I tried some Neutrogena acne toner and it dried out my face and I started breaking out. When I went back to using all four steps of the AcneFree, I cleared back up.

The only bad thing is I'd like to use this on my chest as well but I'm afraid of bleaching my clothes so I do not.

Anyway I'm really happy with this and would recommend it to anyone, and am getting ready to buy my second kit.

Worked For Me
First, a caveat: I'm not used to using facial care products, so I haven't got much frame of reference outside of shaving cream and razors.

That said, this gel is effective at reducing acne flare-ups. It goes on pretty smoothly and doesn't have any annoying scent. I used it with Murad's facial toner and their moisturizer. My face is definitely smoother (don't really care about that so much, but my wife likes it), but more importantly, it's clearer.

No difference for my acne

Not bad
I've had a problem with acne for quite a while. It's never been too bad but my skin has never been completely clear either. I've heard a lot of reviews about ProActiv and thought it was worth a try. It worked just like every other face wash I've every used. It kept my skin for breaking out too much but I still broke out. I would just stick with the less expensive stuff then spend over $50 on this product again.

This configuration will leave you very disappointed
Proactiv is GREAT, but this configuration will leave you very disappointed. The sizes are small for the price and you might as well buy the "Mega" Supersized bottles instead for an additional $10. There is no way that the sizes in this configuration would last for 60 days of use. This ad is misleading.

You'll find a better deal right here on Amazon, just search for "Super Size Proactiv" and you'll find it, and get much larger sizes with free shipping (usually).

Conclusion: Proactiv is Recommended! (but buy another configuration).

A highly effective ance treatment product, but...
Proaciv is a highly effective acne treatment brand but, here's the catch - you have to keep at it. Firstly, it takes a few weeks before you see significant results. This is the case for any acne treatment product really - you just HAVE to be consistent and give it time. So, folks looking for a quick solution to their problem (i.e. - clearing up your skin in time for prom or a wedding, for example) will be disappointed.

Secondly, it is not a magic potion capable of "curing" acne. Once you stop using the product, your acne will return unless you take active steps to maintain the health of your skin. It is often believed that merely using a product can be the only change made to help your skin. Clear skin is about more than just using the right brands.... having clear skin is about understanding skin.

Overall, I'd say use this product if you can afford to consistently buy it. If you can't, understand the ways to help keep your skin healthy since, if you don't take those steps, it is HIGHLY likely be disappointed once you stop using Proactiv.

16 year old girl here
I'm a 16 year old girl and have been using this product for a year now. I've had horrible acne since I was 12 and have never felt good about myself, and I've been bullied for my complexion often. I only use this product at night, not both morning and night as recommended on the package. When I first started using AcneFree, my acne actually got a bit worse for 2-3 months. I almost gave up but I decided that I might as well keep using it, as nothing else has ever worked. After 3 months my skin started getting significantly better, and I was noticing how much less acne I had every morning. After 4 months of using AcneFree, my skin is so much more clear. I feel much more confident about myself and people now compliment my much clearer complexion. After a year of use, my skin is still much better that it once was but I recently started using it both in the morning and at night because I can tell that the acne is attempting to act up again. If this change in routine can't tame it, I might switch to AcneFree Severe Acne Treatment System for more powerful treatment. I just think my skin has gotten used to the normal AcneFree. I highly recommend this product as it has really changed my life for the better.

AcneFree works buttt...
Yes, Acne Free does work wonders. It treats acne just as well as, if not better, than Proactive at half the cost. Unfortunately, there is a downfall: you have to use Acne Free RELIGOUSLY for it to work. I had been using the product for about a month and my skin was almost perfectly clear. I went 48 hours washing, toning, and lotioning my face only twice instead of four times and all hell broke loose! It took me a week to get my face clear again! Gahhh!

Overall, a great product; I just wish it wasn't so time consuming. I guess you have to go the prescription cream route if you're looking for something to just apply and go.

AcneFree Ruined My Face
I hate this product!!! I am 14 years old and this treatment just helped my acne spread around. The first week, nothing happened. Then, the second week my face started peeling! But, I wasn't even using that much of the product. The third week my whole face was full of acne and still peeling. I was horrified. So I took pictures and noticed it just got worse and worse by the time I use it.

Please help me, should I keep using it and wait for the results? Or should I stop?

Please! My face looks horrible! Help me.

Dries out your skin, but works.
I was going to give this 3 stars because the cleanser and maybe the repair lotion too dried out my skin. Maybe it was everything, but definitely the purifying cleanser stripped all moisture from my face. My face was flaky dry, tight, and painful at times. It hurt, but I had no acne. I tried moisturizers, but maybe if I had bought a moisturizer that was more powerful and used it twice a day it would have brought my face back to normal. I don't know. I'm tempted to try this out again since it worked before I just stopped cuz it made my skin dry.
I am using a prescription med. but it's not working anymore I believe, I'm breaking out and have been ever since summer so that would be 3 seasons I had almost clear skin. The perscription didn't get rid of all the acne, about 90-95 percent of it, which is good enough, right?

So that is why I'm tempted to use this again, it will def dry my skin out, which is not fun when you can't move your face easily without pain. Maybe it could work, but Benzoyl peroxide ruins my face, dries it out, makes me red, but does get rid of pimples. Well Benzoyl peroxide isn't for me, and AcneFree contains this in 2 or all 3 of the steps in the system! Which is not good, for me at least.

I heard about AcneFree sensitive kit for people with sensitive skin and can't handle the original formula so I'm extremely tempted to try that out since my skin perscription isn't working right now and school is gonna start and I don't wanna start High school with nasty skin!!! So i'm willing to run over to walmart and try out the sensitive kit.

Overall I give this 4 stars because if it did not dry out my skin, this would have easily been 5 stars. But I'm not giving it 3 because it did work, but there's one MAJOR trade off, dry skin, or acne? At least for me, that was the options with this kit. Still I loved it and you can love it too, if you skin can handle benzoyl peroxide then try this out. You'll probably love it.

(My skin is combination skin (oily T zone normal face overall) and my skin isn't really sensitive but when Benzoyl peroxide is in the picture, yes it is!! So thats my background, and I've had acne since 6th grade so about when I was 11 years old. I'm 14 & a half now. and I have acne scars that are bigger than the average freckle but aren't like puddle size. I have tried everything except for Stridex, Proactiv, Max Clarity, and a few others like The Wave but that is it.) If Sensitive kit in AcneFree don't work, I'll have to head over to Max Clarity or see my doc.

best all around skin care treatment
I love all of the acne.org products. I am an adult (over 30) with mild acne and sensitive skin. I have tried different products including other products with multiple steps and products to use. Most of them broke me out worse than no "system" at all so I always went back to using a simple cleanser and an spf moisturizer. Initially the acne.org regimen really dried out my skin, but it did clear up the acne so I stuck with it (while consulting the acne.org website daily to perfect my personal regimen and make sure I was using the products correctly). I use the bp on the lower half of my face (skipping my forehead) and use less than called for in the regimen (but still quite a bit). I LOVE the cleanser. The moisturizer burned my face at first, but now I am used to it, and it works great. For an spf moisturizer I use the Oil of Olay sensitive skin spf 15 (the one with zinc oxide). After using the products for over a year and a half, it takes me no time to use the products, and most importantly they keep my skin healthier than it has ever been. So many people are looking for a good skin care line and are paying top dollar for all sorts of things that they just don't need (or are incredibly overpriced). Dan has kept his products reasonably priced and basic.

AMAZING!
I was skeptical when I first read about Dan's treatment...it just seemed too simple and too good to be true. I tried salicylic acid products and stronger benzoyl peroxide products with very little success. After only ONE WEEK of giving Dan's treatment a try, I got fantastic results. I have pretty oily skin and moderate acne around my chin and jawline, but Dan's regimen has truly been the "miracle product" I have been searching for. I have never written a review online for any product I have ever purchased, but I just felt that Dan's regimen should get the praise and credit it deserves. I think I am fortunate that I results so quickly, but I am confident that you will see improvement if you give the [...] products a try. Thanks!

Finally! The Holy Grail of Acne Products
I have been using this Regimen for 2 months now. I love it. My face did dry out a little at first but I cut back (as Dan suggests) and I was fine. This stuff is amazing. I have tried every product under the sun (feels that way anyway..). This works way better than Proactiv, SkinID, Neutrogena, etc.

I think that when I purchase this again, I will get a big bottle of the treatment and the tube of AHA. That stuff rocks as a spot treatment! I was not blown away by the moisturizer and so I may incorporate something different there. The cleanser works well so I will most likely get that again unless I find something better.

I would recommend this for anyone that is having trouble with acne but you have to follow the Regimen. If you are serious about getting clear skin, that shouldn't be too much work. ;o)

Great BP and cleanser. Horrible moisturizer.
I am very grateful for this skin treatment regimen. I think that Dan has the right ideas when it comes to ridding your face of acne. The gentle cleanser and the benzoyl peroxide included with this kit are top notch. You will not find another benzoyl peroxide that comes even close to this product. The cleanser is very similar to Cetaphil's skin cleanser.

I will say, however, that the moisturizer included with this kit is absolutely horrible. It reacts with the BP treatment and serves to burn and irritate your skin. If anything, it will cause more acne breakouts rather than remedy them. It is also very greasy and leaves skin shiny.

For this reason alone, I cannot recommend purchasing this starter kit. A better choice would be to purchase a large bottle of the treatment (which is unrivaled) and possibly a large bottle of the cleanser (but Cetaphil or something similar would be equally good). Find another moisturizer! If you do, let me know what you find. I use Key's Soap RX Sunscreen for my AM moisturizer and it works great. Still looking for a good evening moisturizer that is somewhat similar (cream and non-greasy, and of course something that doesn't burn my face).
