Is it safe to use laser hair removal on Males sexual parts?

Laser removal might be the best permanent solution for removing hair, obviously a lot of females use it on the their sexual parts, and many Males have problems of hair growing on the "Penis", is it safe to use laser removal?

One of the side effects of laser hair removal are burns. While burns are not always part of the treatments, on very sensitive skin, major burning can occur. Because you are trying to get hair removed in such a sensitive area, I would look into all possible side effects. If you think you can stand any of them on your genitals for ever treatment (there are usually several), then maybe this is okay for you. But for most people, I would say leave the hair or find a different solution.

Customer Reviews

Worked for me
The laser DOES work....But it is a lot of work and dedication ! I really hoped to do the legs, but I only have time for underarms, because I have a 1 year old who keeps me so busy I hardly ever have time for myself. So...this laser is really only for people who have all the time in the world and here is why : The laser window is sooo small that it takes a really long time to properly cover the area you want to treat. You can't just randomly zap yourself. And by the way you cant just relax and watch tv while doing it - you have to pay attention to the process. I've been using this laser on my underarms for about 8 months now,and it worked, the hair slowly disappearing and whichever ones that grow are very very thin and light ( I am a dark brunette ),and the skin is smooth and light , so for me it worked.I am extremely happy about it, although must say I can't even imaging starting treatments on my legs since it takes forever to treat both underarms, and btw,the battery lasts for underarms treatment only, so if you are doing a larger area, be prepared to recharge (takes about 3 hrs) and remember where you stopped. I am still planning to do my legs since I know this laser actually works, but i will have to wait, maybe when my baby goes to day care I'll have more time.
Also, this laser is very heavy, which can tell you that it's not a flimsy product. But when you are doing your underarms you will need a break and some rest for your hands!
I would give this laser 5 stars since it worked on me, but I wish the laser window was much bigger,so that way you can treat larger area, but for now it's just takes forever and gets annoying after a while.
Also, it hurts...yes, it does. It only doesnt hurt when on level 1, but when on level 2 and especially 3 it zaps you. Mostly on sensitive areas.
Can't get it to unlock!!!??????
I just purchased this product and followed the directions exactly to unlock the device and it doesn't work.
I activated it correctly, I charged it correctly, unplugged it as instructed and hit the power button to turn the device on and nothing happens. What indicates the power is on?

I put the sensor against my skin correctly, the green light came on and I then put the sensor face it and waved it up and down near the indicator lights as instructed and nothing happened.

I already wrote to customer service and have not heard back from them.
Thank you
Diane
It does work - just takes time
I have spent thousands on medspa laser hair removal and up until a few month ago, I was still going for treatments. I decided to give this a try, and am I glad I did. To my surprise - it really does work. I started just doing 1 arm, 1 leg, and my chin/upper lip. It has been almost 2 months. Progress is slow on the face and I can't say for sure that I'm getting any results there. On the arm, I have noticed incremental reductions of about 20%.

The real surprise has been on my leg. Already I have a reduction of about 60%, and the hair that is growing in is growing much slower. I shaved both legs at the same time and then let them grow back in for a few days. The untreated leg has significant stuble. The treated leg looks almost as if I just shaved it with just a few stray hairs here and there. These results in this area are motivating me to keep going with the rest.

Unlike the medspa LHR, this doesn't singe the hairs and cause them to fall out in the same way. They suggest shaving first and then using the product. I did that on my leg, but not my arm or face - perhaps that is somehow related to my results.
Early Review--planned updates
Ok I guess I will try to keep this updated as time comes along.

First, some background. I went through about 6 IPL sessions back in 2004/2005 and I simply ran out of money to keep paying $250 per session. For those that say that ALL hair grows back after some point with laser treatments, this is not the case for ME. I don't know for others, but after 6 sessions, and now over 5 years since my last treatment, about 60% of the hair I used to have (chest+stomach) is still gone, and I think after 5 long years one can call it "permanent." Because so much hair was reduced over time I never saw the point in going back (I also didn't want to spend on it!) since shaving what was left was easier.

So here I am 5 years later and I saw this and I said why not?! For $495 I'll finish the job finally. I have heard but cannot confirm that actual lasers are more effective than IPL, which this Tria is. So in theory this might be equal to or better than the professional treatments I got 5 years ago. If I go by the pain...they are equal (Tria at highest setting) and if that's any kind of measure of effectiveness vis-a-vis professional lasers then I think I can be optimistic!

I've had the chance to do 2 sessions. So obviously not much to report results wise. However as a product, I think this is pretty good for the home market. But it can definitely be improved upon. Starting with the size of the laser area. It really really is way too small. It's smaller than the area of a dime! So if you wanted to laser both your legs, unless you want to spend countless hours that would add up to several days trying to finish, maybe you are better off waiting for a future revision where I HOPE they double the area at the very least. Perhaps this would not be a problem if the battery actually lasted more than 20 minutes (at highest setting) before running out (recharging it fully takes 3 hours!--now you know why it would add up to days to do your legs!). I managed to complete my chest and stomach fully with 3 charges. The inferior batter would also not be a problem if they allowed this to work plugged in. I seriously do not understand why they would only allow use by battery--I can guess why though--planned obsolescence most likely: the Tria will only work after 300 charges. But it is simply ridiculous that it cannot be used plugged in.

So...bottom line: for small areas or the most patient among you this is very much worth it (even with its flaws). Like I said above professional treatments can run from $200 and up each. It will probably work (I will update with results over time) and you will save a ton of money. One tip I got from another review below was to use a white pencil eyeliner to make a grid so you know where you are and how much you have zapped--it really helps.

Overall, I am so far satisfied, I understand its drawbacks and for the convenience/price of doing it at home these are worth it to me. If you can afford dropping two grand on professional treatment packages go for that, if not then this is a great alternative. Again, it should work but I cannot yet make a definitive statement based on experience.

Since the product was updated a year and a half ago, they will probably release version 3.0 soon. It might be worth it to wait a bit longer to see if they address some of those flaws. I simply just got too excited to wait!

TRIA laser hair removal
I've used the TRIA laser for one month now and so far I'm happy with the results. I look forward to a year from now when hopefully I'll no longer have to shave.

  • On average one session treating an entire leg should take less than an hour

Product Description

Epila is a 808 nanometer (nm) wavelength diode laser hair remover designed to be used in the comfort of your own home. The 808 nanometer (nm) wavelength is currently being used by clinics worldwide for permanent hair removal. making it safe for in-home use. Its simple to use, power the device and start moving it over the desired treatment area. As Epila is moved over the skin, it emits light energy that is absorbed by the melanin pigment, resulting in rapid heating of the hair follicle. The heat destroys the papillae (hair follicles) that are responsible for hair growth. Epila uses a diode laser which has a longer wavelength than other lasers used for hair removal, which means will even work on darker, more pigmented skin types. On average, one session treating an entire leg should take less than an hour and should be painless, but if you experience discomfort, you can switch to a lower setting. Since the area treated will be extremely sensitive for a few days, it is wise to wear both protective clothing and sun block whenever you're outside. In addition, plan to limit your sun exposure for a day or two after the treatment, as you can expect some slight swelling and redness. These side effects should disappear within a day and can be soothed with an ice-pack included with Epila.

Customer Reviews

Requires testing and experience
I am a registered electrologist who wanted to get to areas of my own body that I could not reach with electrolysis. I read the reviews and decided not to get this item but forgot that I had sniped one and won it. So, I decided to sit down and read the instructions thoroughly and give it my best shot. I decided to print some different size dotted lines from my printer to test this and it worked great. My recommendation for someone trying this for the first time without any technical experience is to do the same. I also recommend that you have fair skin with dark hair. If you have dark skin do not test this on visible areas and maybe try using some Desenex baby cream on your skin to lighten it temporarily. Make sure you are coming in at an angle to the hair almost forming an x. The diagrams are in the instructions. You can also ice the area also in the instructions. Start on the lowest setting and work up as needed to kill the hair follicle. The instructions were obviously not written by an English speaking person but I could make it out fine, maybe my experience was helpful in that? Anyway, I love it and was thrilled at it's performance.
I HAD TWO OF THIS AND I SOLD ONE ON EBAY. TRULY ONLY BURN THE ONE HAIR AT A TIME. TAKE FOREVER . THE MACHINE IS NOT FOR THE BODY
THIS IS NOT WORK FOR THE BODY AND ONE HAIR AT A TIME. ONE HAIR IN THE BODY WILL GROW BACK THE SCAM THICKNESS AGAIN. BUT FOR FACIAL WILL WORK WHICH TAKE FOREVER FOR YOU TO FINISH. PEOPLE WHAT YOUR MONEY AND I LOST ALOT OF MONEY BASED ON MY SPUDITY.
It might work, only if you willing spend tons of time on doing one tiny spot
This product is not what is been selling, you have to be so focus on SINGLE hair. After couples hair, my arm and wrist was so tire and my eyes was painful as well, not because of the laser, but you have to focus on ONE hair's root. The price that we pay is 100% not worth. No way that i would recommend it to other, because it takes up all of your time, never work as the way it say, make you crazy while using it...you will know why, if you tried it. (I hope you won't)
DO NOT BUY IT
I bought this thing from the original seller in Korea (from their website)around 4 months ago. Tried it for a day, it's as light weighted as a toy and as useless as one too. it litterary doesn't do anything but burn your skin and leaves a little black spots. I returned it the very next day and didn't get my money back until this day and paid $25 to ship it back to Korea(they sell it for $200 on their website). I wish I bought it from Amazon, I would've got my money back by now!!!

Customer Reviews

Great Product
I love this little gizmo. I don't even call it an epilator- I call it my waxing machine. I'll be honest here, I bought this for weekly brazilian bikini waxes at a much much more reasonable price than the salon can offer. Be careful! This thing is powerful! If you're gonna use it down there make sure you've already been to the salon two or three times so the roots won't be so thick. I've started using it on my legs and it works really well. It's great having nice waxed underarms all the time too. Remember to be patient! All these women are right- first time is the worst. This is the only epilator I own and I look forward to never having to buy another. If your unsure of which model to get- go with this! Only con is this thing is a little loud but whatever. Doesn't bother me especially with the amazing results!

NOTE:: Buy rubbing alcohol and clean as directed! Sometimes when a hair gets yanked out the pore will bleed a tiny bit and that's going to get on the tweezer head.
Great tool
Great epilator. I've had one for over a year and it still works great. Easy to clean and use. A bit loud but I don't see a way around that.
Love it
Lots have said how much they love this, and I'm just echoing that. This is my first epilator, and I was expecting it to hurt more, but it's definitely bearable. Yes, some places hurt worse than others (I did try my underarms the other day, and I couldn't do it). The bikini area hurts too, but I can handle it.
Mostly, I just think this thing is so neat. The light is great, and I like the option of the different heads and speeds.
I wish I would've bought this years ago.
epilating
This is my first experienece with epilating and I must say it is a bit painful for me even after three times of usage. This despite the fact that I have been getting my body professionaly waxed every month so it's not like I have a low pain threshold. I love the fact that that this device has a light that makes you see hairs that you would otherwise miss, and yes, the pain is getting better with each use but I have two problems with it:
I don't know if it's just me, but I have been having more ingrown hair on my legs after using this machine than I ever have.
Second, Although the manual advices against using it on very short hair (I mean hair that's not even reached it's mid length), I like to use it on very short hair or medium length as it eases the pain. Anybody else had a similar experience? Is there any problem with doing this?

I can't say if the machine is better than others, but definetely worth your money as it saves you the money you'll spend on waxing.
Great epilator
I just got this today and tried it right away because my old epilator broke. I still feel a little pain although I have been using them for a long time. It is not really bad, just a little pain. What I liked the most was the ease of use on my underarms. Even though the hair was small, it took all of the hair off. I also used it lightly on my legs and worked really good. Keep in mind I was just trying it so I did not do the whole job on my legs. I will finish tomorrow. I really like the light because it points to the hair that I would not otherwise seen. This is also not as noisy as my old epilator so that is a plus.
I think I am going to like it very much. It has a great grip and I like the plug because is not too big and I can have something else plugged in the bathroom. I have not used the shaver yet but I will update this review as time goes by. I thought the price was reasonable since I had paid about the same amount for my last epilator about 4 years ago.

Customer Reviews

Hair Laser
I have been using this product for about 3 wks now and have been very satisfied. The hair at my temple is now almost all grown in. Can't wait to see the end results.
X5 Hair works!
I was motivated to buy my X5 Hair Laser because I was losing a lot of hair in the last winter. I had heard about the laser technology in hair treatment before I bought my one. A dermatologist suggest me the laser treatmeny. I bought it in January/2010 and in February I already noted the reduction in my hair fall.

I can not say that it will work for everyone but at least it worked in my problem because different reasons cause hair's fall. I would like to emphasize that I have been taking some vitamins and I use minoxidil in my hair. I believe that the combination of X5 + vitamins + minoxidil is responsible for the success of my hair regrowth treatment.

Well designed
I purchased this type of hair laser due to the larger area of coverage and that it is cordless/rechargable. I have found it to be extremely easy to use. I like the timer feature. I've been using it for two months and have been happy thus far. I will reserve the 5 stars for the six month point when I should really be able to judge its effectiveness. It definitely does cover a large area at a time and is easy to use sitting in front of the tv or walking around.
Too Vague
X5 Laser
Product Description
Low level laser light has been shown as the most effective new treatment for thinning hair.

The implication is that it will GROW hair but the product description is far too vague, no where do I see the magic words WILL GROW HAIR.....
Superb!
Right to the point, 650NW Light Therapy works. The question is which unit do you choose (hair pro, hair max, laser max, etc). I own many LLT machines including HairPro, LightWorks, LaserMax,and RayMax. They all work, but most of them are either uncomfortable to use or require an AC adapter.

I first saw the X5 in a SkyMall catalog. I purchased it right away. To my surprise, WOW!. This is, in my opinion, the most complete, easy to use unit. It brought all of the nice features into a single unit.

1. It's very comfortable
2. It's powerful
3. It's Rechargeable

Good luck.
